Traditional Pulling of Rice Seedling 
Transplanting is the most common and traditional method of crop establishment for rice in Lepcha cultures. Rice seedlings grown in a nursery are pulled and transplanted into leveled fields. This is done in order to get higher yields.
Manual Transplanting is done most by people of the village itself with enthusiastic, passionate and vehement. They help each other for pulling and transplanting of rice. The village people enjoy working in the paddy fields by drinking testy organic millet wine. This method has been carried out hundred years to keep the Lepcha tradition alive.
