REVIEW BY JAN & GLEN

Jan and Glen October 2017 Our experience of staying with Sangdup and his family at Lingthem Lyang Homestay was exquisite. The family couldn't have been more helpful. The warmth of their hospitality made us feel very welcome and well cared for. All the logistics ran smoothly. Sangdup takes care of permits to enter Dzongu and can arrange transport. Communication by email and phone was very efficient. The homestay consists of three buildings around a sunny courtyard. One houses the simple, wood-lined bedrooms that are clean and comfortable. Close by are hot showers and Asian and  Western  style toilets, each in a separate cubicle. The third building contains the kitchen, dining area and fire hearth. Unless there are power interruptions, there is electricity available in the room 24/7. The views from the homestay itself are stunning; paddy fields, vegetable gardens, natural forest and mountains, including the mighty Mt. Kanchenjunga. View from walking trail near Ling...

Bagdogra Airport to Lingthem Lyang Homestay New Jalpaiguri to Lingthem Lyang Homestay Gangtok to Lingthem Lyang Homestay The nearest Airport is Bagdogra Airport and the nearest Railway Station is New Jalpaiguri Railway Station in West Bengal. Once can directly reach Dzongu from the Airport/Railway station via the Singtam road, which takes approximately 5 to 6 hours. You can ride up to Mangan and take another Taxi or come directly in the same vehicle to Lingthem Village in Dzongu. However, for entering into Dzongu(reserved place for Lepcha) special permit is issued by the Government of Sikkim. The permit will be arranged by us before you ar...

Photo Credit: Diego Beauvilliain I had the opportunity to stay in the Lingthem Lyang Homestay for more than 10 days, and I can say that I enjoyed all my time there. The Homestay in itself is beautifully simple, comfortable and constructed in the traditional Lepcha way.  Photo Credit: Diego Beauvilliain The surroundings of the places are astonishing, and a lot of different activities and small treks are available in the region. All of these activities provided by Sangdup, who is a wonderful host. Sangdup is extremely friendly, welcoming and will do everything possible so his guests have great experience in his homestay. I had the chance to do various small treks, visit the temple of Lingthem, enjoyed the hot spring, meet a lot of people from the town.....  Photo Credit: Diego Beauvilliain Photo Credit: Diego Beauvilliain Photo Credit: Diego Beauvilliain So, if you ever have the occasion to go to the Lingthem Lyang Homestay, don't hesitate for a second...
