An image of the front of the monastery by our guest Tanmay Sen who visited us from Midnapore  The Buddhist monastery in the village Lingthem is over hundred year old and a pleasant thirty minutes walk across the greenery of the mountain from the Lingthem Lyang Home stay. Our guests never fail to undertake this walk to the monastery, and come back with a lifetime experience of peace, serenity and fulfillment. A slow and steady walk unfolds gems of scene, sound, and sweet memories. One of the most immediate benefit is that it fills your lungs with purest of oxygen, massages your muscles, and makes you much stronger and sturdier. our guests dev and prabuddh, on the monastery trail, whistling a song in chorus with chirping birds, gushing streams, and rustling trees Our guest from Germany Johanna and her father loved to take note of several places on the way to the monastery. Review by Steven Buik Walser and Linda Wu

Image
My husband and I were the first guests of the newly opened Lingthem Lyang Homestay. We were interested in exploring an off the beaten path destination of North Sikkim and were recommended to check out Dzongu Valley by BB Line Tours in Gangtok. They recommended this homestay and after a long and bumpy journey, we finally made it. We greatly enjoyed our stay with Sangdup and his lovely family. Sangdup is a wealth of information on the Lepcha community, Dzongu Valley, and North Sikkim. Both Sangdup and his family were amazing, going out of their way to make sure we completely enjoyed our stay. During our stay, we enjoyed challenging hikes in the countryside. The views of the mountains and hills are stunning. Linda Wu and Steven Buik Walser, Lovers of Himalayas from Washington D.C, USA

Review By Priya Naik & Prabuddh Pathak

photo credit: dev pathak Finding Lingthem Lyang Homestay is a prized moment. Staying here we were blessed with exotic rustic living filled with the charm of ordinary, magic of mundane, and extraordinary experience of living in the Himalayan surrounding. The mornings were like prayer coming true as the clouds descended to the homestay and the magnificent Kanchenjunga peeked through the wooden window of our room. Gushing river downhill and many streams passing by added to the sublime. The evenings brought about fulfilling moments of silence, muffled in the solitude of the surrounding. My three year old Prabuddh made friends with gentle and furry dogs of the neighborhood, collected many unseen leaves and pebbles, and played all day by himself without asking for any of his city-based toys. We were truly civilized in the wilderness. Far from the alloy of civilization the humming winds brought to us Buddhist chants. And, most importantly, the exquisitely caring members of the homestay m...
